Pranayama

The breath is the only function of the body that is both involuntary and fully within your control. That bridge is not accidental — it is the doorway the Seer uses to step inward. At Drashta Yoga, Pranayama is taught as a precision practice: not deep breathing for relaxation, but a systematic expansion of life energy that changes how you think, feel, and perceive.

Why Practice Pranayama?

  • Vitality Boost: Increases oxygen supply to the body and brain, boosting energy levels.
  • Mental Clarity: Balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, leading to focus and calm.
  • Emotional Balance: Regulates the nervous system, helping to manage anxiety and anger.

We teach a progression of techniques, starting from basic breath awareness to advanced practices like Nadi Shodhana, Kapalbhati, and Bhramari, always prioritizing safety and gradual progress.

Who Is This For?

Pranayama is for students dealing with anxiety, scattered attention, low energy, or shallow breathing patterns — which is most of us. It is also the natural next step for anyone who has been practising Asana and wants to move the practice inward. Beginners are welcome; Ritu adjusts the techniques to your current capacity.
