Questions Before You Begin

Everything you need to know before your first session.

Do I need prior experience to join?
Not at all. Our classes welcome complete beginners and experienced practitioners equally. Every session is taught with modifications and variations, so you participate at the level that feels right for your body on that day. If you've never done yoga before, that's perfectly fine — everyone starts somewhere.
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing you can move freely in — there's no special gear required. For in-person sessions at our Jalandhar studio, bring a water bottle and arrive 5–10 minutes early. Yoga mats are available at the studio, though you're welcome to bring your own. For online sessions, just have a mat and enough clear floor space to stretch out fully.
Once you book, you'll receive a session link on WhatsApp before class begins. All online classes are live and interactive — Ritu can see you, give real-time guidance, and adjust your practice as needed. A stable internet connection and a device with a working camera gives you the best experience. Recorded replays are also available for select sessions.
Yes. We ask for at least 6 hours notice for group or drop-in classes, and 24 hours notice for private 1:1 sessions. Sessions cancelled within this window receive a full credit toward a future class. No-shows unfortunately forfeit the session. To cancel or reschedule, simply message us on WhatsApp — it takes less than a minute.
All sessions are conducted in both Hindi and English. Ritu naturally moves between the two throughout class, so every student — whether you're local to Jalandhar or joining from anywhere in India or abroad — feels completely at home.
Yes, we actively accommodate students with a range of conditions including back pain, joint issues, hypertension, post-surgery recovery, and more. When booking, simply mention your condition over WhatsApp so Ritu can prepare appropriate modifications before your session. For certain conditions, a short one-on-one assessment may be recommended before joining a group class — this is only to make sure your practice is safe and effective from day one.
Yes! If you're new to Drashta Yoga and want to experience a session before committing, we offer a discounted first class. Just message us on WhatsApp, mention you're a first-time student, and we'll sort everything out for you.
Batch classes are recurring weekly sessions where you join a fixed group and progress together over weeks — ideal if you want structure, consistency, and a sense of community. Drop-in sessions let you book individual classes as your schedule allows, with no long-term commitment. Both formats are available for in-person and online students.
